Community Username: Peacekeeper

Real Name: Tony

Tony has been a strong and steady force in the McAfee community long before we migrated to the new platform you see today. His input was integral to the implementation effort, and he continues to report site issues that lead to an improved user experience here.

Aside from that, he is an invaluable extension of the McAfee support team! Being an Aussie, he wakes up at the crack of dawn to attend weekly calls (along with Ex_Brit) to discuss emerging issues and troubleshooting results with McAfee engineers.

Sometimes people have a hard time remembering his username. Say it with me now: PeaceKEEPER, not Peacemaker, or Peacecleaner.

Thank you for everything you do, Tony! We appreciate you.

Real Name: Tom

If you've been hanging around Home and Home Office lately, you've probably seen Tom (k3tg). He originally joined the McAfee forums back in 1997, before we had this shiny new community interface.

Tom checks in when he can to help other customers troubleshoot and resolve their McAfee product issues. He has been a McAfee customer himself for over a decade! People thank him repeatedly, and recently a fellow customer even called him a superstar. Praise like that is always nice to hear!

Tom works in the growing transportation industry, and he is also one of those rare people who knows Morse code. Besides that, he looks cool in shades.

A little more about Tom (k3tg):

Briefly explain what you do and how long you’ve been in your career.

I have worked in the automotive industry for over 25 years as a Parts Manager for 2 car dealerships and then I took a position in Sales, Marketing, and Customer Relations for a railcar parts manufacturing company and got the opportunity to travel all through the USA and Canada. A few years ago when the economy took a turn for the worst I lost my position as the company folded. Being too young to retire, I got my CDL and started to work as an over the road truck driver.

How often do you visit the McAfee community? How long have you been a member?

In what little spare time I have, I visit the community and offer suggestions to help people with thier issues. I initially joined the community sometime back in 2007 as I recall.

What areas in the community do you visit the most? How do you spend your time?

I generally visit the security and home areas the most as I feel I can be most effective there offering my suggestions.

What is your favorite thing about the community?

It is very user friendly.

What is the best advice you have received in the community?

Always keep your systems updated with program updates as they become available.

How long have you been using McAfee?

I started using McAfee back in the late 90's.

What advice would you give people using McAfee?

Just as one should maintain their automobile, keep your system maintained and accept security updates when they become available.

Do you speak any languages besides English?

Actually I can communicate with anyone in any country regardless of the language barrier. As a licensed USA amateur radio operator, this communication can be done by way of the international morse code.

What is a fun fact about you?

I still enjoy watching cartoons on TV.
