Big Fish Verses Mcafee

If you have recently (December 2008) been told by your McAfee Security that you have a "trojan" found in your BigFish games, let McAfee know you are pissed about this false detection. My experience as of 12-23-2008 is this: I have been playing my BigFish games for months and then all of sudden, today, McAfee says there is a trojan called "generic.dx". I have gone to BigFish and a whole lot of other people are having the same situation.

McAfee needs to get on the ball and fix their security virus/trojan scan. We pay good hard earn money to buy security from McAfee to protect us...not to give us hassles.

I could have saved my money and just deleted my BigFish Games on my own for no reason----instead I paid McAfee to screw up!

SO MCAFEE TECHNICIANS....FIX THE PROBLEM TODAY!!!!!

please fix this!
I am right in line with you, I had this problem once before after an update. It seems they would NOT have the same problem more than once! Big Fish Games has a large group of subscribers. Seems like MacAfee would want those people's business.

I demand a refund
Yes. Fix the problem immediately. Also, I WANT MY MONEY BACK FOR THIS YEAR'S SUBSCRIPTION. We demand compensation for your unacceptable mistake.

Anybody have a real e-mail address for McAfee or better yet a phone number? I can't seem to find one anywhere. No surprise really. I would hide my contact info if I made shoddy products like McAfee virus scan.

New Virus Found
I have discovered the reason why all of my Big Fish games are gone. My computer has been invaded by the McAfee virus. This virus will randomly delete things that it thinks might be of some importance to you. So be aware.

McAfee Attack Big Fish Games
It started last night (Monday December 22 2008) I was playing my Big Fish game and McAfee suddenly pops up stating it detected a Trojan "Generic.dx" it attacked and disabled all of my games; Best Buy, Big Fish and MSN. I paid money for those games. I want my games or my money back (perfer the games).

I don't think I will be renewing McAfee. You must fix this problem! Do not give us complicated fixes. Since you can do so much remotely - remotely fix this and put my games back!

generic.dx
My BigFish games are also unusable thanks to McAfee saying the generic.dx is a trojan. People I've talked to on bigfish have uninstalled McAfee and purchased another virus program. I'm willing to give McAfee a chance but as of today have had no reply to my complaint. Not waiting much longer. This is the pits. Don't mess with my games.

First, Do No Harm
Hello, McAfee Technicians. Do you test your software before you send it out into the world? Are there Beta test sites that run your updates before you infect the world with your faulty programs? About a month ago, you killed one of my games from BigFishGames with your bad code. Congratulations! Now you've killed them all. I sat in horror last night while pop-up message after pop-up message appeared to inform me that you found a trojan (where none existed) in each and every game I have. I had to power down to stop the onslaught. Soon after I powered up this morning, your real-time scan killed the few stragglers I saved the night before. It took you over a week to solve that last mess. How long will it take you to fix this one? Merry Christmas.

games and more games
my bigfish games, shockwave games, pogo all together 19 that I know of, gone. I ran my scan again and it quarantined 52 of them, all games, etc. is that progress? so far, the games are not downloading again at any of the sites. hope McAfee is really working on this. I've been a loyal customer and payer for years and now the cost of the games are gone. I know the games can be retrieved from the companies but not until the work is done by McAfee.

RE: Big Fish Verses Mcafee
I read a post on Big Fish Games from the management, he said they are currently in talks with McAfee Management to try and get this resolved as quickly as possible. I believe the tech guys at McAfee are working as quickly as they can to fix this, all we can do is wait. sad

I've canceled my 2 McAfee subscriptions as a result of this. Great work at retaining customers, McAfee.

RE: Big Fish Verses Mcafee
I, too, have lost my Big Fish games. I know that this will be resolved between McAfee and Big Fish (maybe there really IS a trojan in the downloaded programs), but flaming McAfee isn't going to get anyone's attention. Give them a chance to decide what's what. I can wait, but I will miss losing all my progress so far in the games - the folders are completely empty now. Anyway, to re-download, Big Fish requires that the original game (if you can find it) must first be removed.

Unbeliveable
Now McAfee is shutting down threads that complain about this problem. CANCEL YOUR SUBSCRIPTIONS EVERYONE! In this economy there's no room for shoddy programming. SHUT THEM DOWN!!!
