Just to ask the question: VSE 8.7 Patch 1 Date

Ok,

We've noticed the following:

1) 1920 errors on systems with no ability to get VSE 8.7 to install

2) System CPU utilitization skyrockets on systems with VSE 8.7i installed

Does anyone actually know when they will release VSE 8.7i Patch 1?

1) this is probably due the fact that you try to "upgrade" instead of uninstalling the old one and installing 8.7, which is by far more recommended.

2)
This is probably on systems with less then 1 Gb memory, right?

Patch 1 should be due end of this month.

We don't have anyting with less that 2GB of RAM in it...

...but the systems that did fail initally were upgraded. After that, I moved to an uninstall, install procedure (as recommended).

The few systems that did get the 1920 erors NEVER recovered their ability to install VSE 8.7. (They were able to install VSE 8.5...)

Really odd.

1920 is just a generic Windows installer error that aren't enough permissions to start a service.
On which service you got this error?

To be honest, I made the desktop teams reimage the systems and then installed VSE 8.7 on them.

So I'd have to go back and look at my notes...

What I have noticed is that VSE 8.7, compared to 8.5, systems are slower. It takes longer for them to boot, even with the same policies applied... and frequently, when a user complains about their computer being slower... task manager shows McAfee using a good percent of the CPU (but it's not fperforming a full or scheduled scan).

The 1920 error is due to a bug in VirusScan.
Check out KB59863. Haven't had time to figured out a way to do this automatically yet, have only a couple of systems with this problem so far.

Hello everybody,

Can anybody tell me, when patch 1 (VSE 8.7) comes out? I want to upgrade from 8.5 to 8.7 but still waiting for patch 1.

In a email exchange last week with a support person regarding DAT 5529 issues, I asked the question again, this was his answer:

- The Patch 1 for VSE8.7i is slated to release by end of this month. But there is no fixed ETA for this.
